    Mr. President's Mouth

    Mr. President’s Mouth

The President almost entirely communicates with the public through premeditated and deliberate speeches. The public strongly emphasizes a President’s speaking skills, often valuing this characteristic more than his policies. These are the president’s mouths as portrayed in their official state portraits.

What if, besides just advertising a candidate’s name, these objects could contribute to the neighborhood they are in? By creating a spectacle, or a sense of […]

The Balance of Media, Public Space, and Politics

A quick line graph attempting to plot the undulations of power over media and space over time (being the critical point of the Egyptian Revolution.) While it may be obvious, to achieve political advantage is to be able to control both media and space. But, as we all saw, the shutdown of the Mubarak-ordered Internet […]

    Taliban Announces Office in Qatar
    Taliban Announces Office in Qatar

After the announcement last week that the Taliban were to open an office in Qatar; the clash in typologies was instantly apparent. As many are aware, the Taliban leaders are educated, intelligent people, so using logic, it is not a stretch to see them in a corporate office environment. BUT, the media never portrays them […]
