About
Design is a function of existing conditions. Real world variables can be identified and defined, then used as parameters for design. Design is [only] a product of these variables, transformed and permuted.
Nothing is new.
These variables are infinite. We are immersed in a culture of [good and bad] design, most recently promising ideals such as “interaction,” “community,” and “camaraderie.” This dense and complex, yet banal environment provides a set ripe for engagement and transformation. And Architecture plays a critical role in forming the everyday.
Under the guise of the Architect as authority figure, the built environment can be negotiated, drawing the public in and involving the viewer in a slightly, and intentionally altered world. The boundary between Fine Art/ Architecture and the public can be broken by gentle subversion.
Using digital technology, architectural form, and charm as a tool, I strive to address real world existing conditions, and act as a transformation, producing work that is revealing and informative, yet subversive.
I am an artist/designer/student whom is currently studying towards my Masters of Architecture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
